does Emil Johansson lead the new generation of mountain biking?

Emil Johansson takes the second ever triple crown at Crankworx in 2021 despite his illness, in doing so makes himself a huge inspiration.

By Logan Richardson Nov 8, 2021.

Emil Johansson Is a professional mountain biker. He is the second ever triple crowned Crankworx biker. He has been biking for over half of his life, all the way from the young age of 10. He has had many bumps in his career but none of them were able to stop him from achieving the goal he set for himself. In 2018 Emil Johansson was diagnosed with Hashimoto's disease at the young age of 20. He was diagnosed right before his biking season started in 2018 and was unable to compete in two years of Crankworx. He had to spend 10 months in rehab before he could even get on his bike again. Throughout his rehab many of his doctors and friends thought he would never be able to ride a bike again. This not only prevented him from riding the season but it also gave all his opponents an upper hand for the next year. Despite all he went to during The past few years, on November third 2021 he came back with the best run Crankworx has ever seen . He won in three different Crankworx competitions all in one season.

Emil Johansson Is a great rider and a great inspiration for the new generation of bikers to look up to. He has shown that despite your circumstances, if you chase your dreams you can achieve them. The difference between Emil and any other professional mountain biker is his drive. He put his head to signing with Redbull and going to Crankworx, and that's what he did. He has always dreamed of signing for a big company like Redbull and finally achieved the dream in 2015 when Redbull asked him to sign with them after his first performance at Crankworx. The new generation of mountain bikers can use this as an example to learn from Emil. He has made many mistakes and many good decisions throughout his career.

Mountain bikers aren't the only ones who can use this example, in fact anyone with a passion for their sport or a certain goal should look at this as just one of the many people who has set their mind to their goal and didn't stop working until they reached it. Many people will use the argument that even if they do achieve their goal in a minor sport such as biking that they won't be able to make enough money to support themselves or their family. This is a false statement even though you may not be a multi millionaire with a bunch of mansions, you can be financially stable. For example Emil Johansson's net worth is currently at 1-5 million dollars, which is way above average. The average person's net worth is roughly around 130,000 dollars, which is the middle classmen not your average college student.

Emil had to take a step to get to where he is at now, he had to break away from his ordinary life. instead of living an everyday is the same type of lifestyle he is living the dream. He travels all over the world so that he can get paid to do what he loves. If he hadn't taken that first step he would never have gotten to where he is now, and he wouldn't be living a legendary life that will leave behind a legacy. More people need to break out of their ordinary life and try something new. It will help others to be inspired to do the same, it will also show that despite your circumstances you can still achieve your goals.

In the end It all breaks down to one decision, the first step. Emil showed that he knew what he wanted and he took it. He accomplished a lot at such a young age. I think we need to be more like Emil, in the sense that we chase after our dreams despite the risk. Life is short and if you don't do anything with it you might regret it. We need to start taking chances and live a little, break apart from the pack and do something we want to for a change. As the famous quote from Spiderman says "life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in awhile, you could miss it."
