Top 5 Best and Cheapest at Home Gym Equipment By Connor Martynowicz

Remember that year 2020. I know, it sucked. Like me you were likely stuck in your house getting sick and tired of listening to your family chewing their food. Almost every establishment was closed, and it was driving me crazy. But during the lockdown the place I missed most was the gym. Feeling healthy and pushing my body to new limits felt like a thing of the past. Now, the gyms have opened back up. But with the pandemic evolving with new strains of Covid-19 there is a possibility of another lockdown. I was then inspired to start collecting home gym equipment. But I quickly ran into the problem of low money due to most gym equipment being thousands of dollars. So, I have made a list of 5 pieces of equipment for anyone who wants a cheap at home gym.

5. Resistance Bands

Resistance bands are some of the easiest to use tools to get your body working for a very cheap price. On top of that, a lot of sets provide a variety of workouts to tone your arms, back, legs, and chest with easy storage as an added bonus. The average product such as the EBK 11-piece resistance band set comes with five bands of different resistance(10-25IBS), two handles, a door grip, and two leg straps. The best part is a set like this, costs as low as 18 dollars. So, if this product breaks, it’s better than the alternative of losing thousands on one machine like the leg press that only targets the legs and takes up way too much space.

4. Pull up bar

The pull up bar is the most useful piece of equipment that can target the shoulders, back, arms, and core. Pull up bars are already in a decent price range of 60-150 dollars but the bigger problem is space and stability. This piece of equipment often needs to be bolted into the ground or wall making it hard to find a useful spot to put it. Also, lets be honest if you’re a beginner, you likely won’t even be able to use a pullup bar in the first place. That’s why the Mllieroo doorway pull up bar is perfect for beginners. With the help of some brackets, this pullup bar slides on and off your door frame for the small price of 19 dollars with easy storage. Also, if this pullup bar doesn’t fit on a door frame, find and adjustable pull up bar that clamps on the inside of a door frame.

3. Dumbbells

Dumbbells can be used in exercises that target almost any muscle group. But a full set ranging from 5IBS(pounds) to 100IBS(pounds) will likely cost you many monthly payments and your kidney along with a huge space demand. Also, many people will likely never touch a 100-pound dumbbell in their life. But It’s also important to have a dumbbell set that separates each dumbbell by only 5 pounds. For example, you use a 15-pound dumbbell. You get used to this and want to bump up weights, but you only have a 30-pound dumbbell. This 15-pound change gives you the risk of injury. So If you want to spend a little bit more money on some workout equipment I recommended getting the Marcy 40 pound adjustable dumbbell set that provides easy storage and use for 135 dollars with the 5-pound separation.

2. Jump Rope

For the cardio portion of equipment there is nothing better than a jump rope. The jump rope is one of the fastest ways to burn calories for the cheapest price. It’s also the most convenient for weather changes. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to run in snowing 20 degree weather. Jump ropes can range from anywhere from 8 to 350 dollars so the choice on which one is yours.

1. The Human Body

The Human Body is by far the most important piece on this list. For zero dollars you can train your body any way you feel like whether that be yoga, running etc.… Like I said earlier with the pull up bar, not everybody is able to do it. But with simple practices like pushups, pull ups will be easy to do. Like the saying goes you must learn to walk before you can run.
